Our LOVE Month - May

Hubby: Happy LOVE month, dear.

Me: (Being unromantic) Huh?!?

Hubby: You forgotten already…this month is our LOVE month.

Me: (Still a bit blur…the only occasion that I know this month is Mother’s Day as I am officially joining the “Mothers in the club”)

Ohhh..yaa.. (expecting hubby to tell me further…)

Hubby: Remember…you agreed to be my girlfriend in May 2001, registered our marriage in May 2003 and had our wedding reception in May 2004. This year is our 5^th year anniversary.

Me: Ya hor… (I never good at remembering dates)

Happy Mother’s Day

This month is also a ‘pokai’ month for my hubby. He had to fork out money to buy gifts as Brae’s ‘tai poh’ (great-grandmother)’s birthday dinner was held this month, as well as buying something for Brae’s ‘ma-ma’ (grandmother) for Mother’s Day. In the end, we decided to buy birds' nests for both of them. There was a promotion going on at Lo Hong Ka, therefore, we went to pay a visit to their outlet in SS2 to buy the birds' nests. Our first visit to the outlet gave us the impression of ‘direct-selling’. Not knowing what to buy, we asked the salesperson to tell us the difference between the six types of birds' nests shown in the Chinese newspapers. I didn’t know there are so many types of birds' nests. To my surprise, the weird reddish birds' nests were the ones which fetched the highest price. In the end, hubby paid RM500++ for the birds' nests for ‘tai poh’ and RM200++ birds' nest concentrate for ‘ma-ma’.

When he took out his credit card to pay, I told hubby jokingly, “You have forgotten, there is another mummy over here”. Hubby was looking at me and said, “Ohh..ya hor.”
